With x11-server-common-1.13.4 the XAA module is no longer provided but drakx-kbd-mouse-x11-0.109-1.mga3 selects the XAA module by default for the Trident video driver. When X is started the result is a blank screen The workaround is to boot in safe mode, run XFdrake, select the vesa driver and reboot. The Trident driver can then be selected, and the box checked to select EXA instead of XAA I do not know if this affects other drivers also but this is similar to Bug 7521 Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:

It was in the xorg.log Unfortunately I no longer have this computer. It was one I was 'upgrading' to linux for someone, so I cannot try out current cauldron.

So if tv comes with a new patch, there is nothing to test it on. I'll close this bug as OLD for now.
