Description Bruno Leite 2013-05-22 19:40:37 CEST
Description of problem:
Screen locker with password on laptop, closed lid set to sleep, if I close the lid before the screen locker is activated (manually or timed), when anyone reopens it my screen is shown big and bright for more than 5 seconds before the screen locker brings its wallpaper on and asks for password.
The same hasn't happened in any other screen locker situation if the lid is left open, as in a desktop withou a "lid".
I have not tried on Mageia 3 32-bit.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kdebase4-runtime v. 1:4.10.2-1.mga3

How reproducible:
about every time I close the lid of my laptop

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get a laptop with Mageia 3 KDE 64-bit set up and running.
2. Set password protected log in and screen locker.
3. On Power Management, confirm "sleep" is selected for "when laptop lid closed" - mind the state you're on, AC or Battery.
4. Leave the System Settings window open or open an application window - it will reproduce if we don't leave a window open, but this makes the security glitch more impressive - then stop doing things and close the lid before the screen locker or energy saving settings kick in.
5. Wait for computer to sleep and reopen the lid. The screen will switch on showing the open session for enough time before screen locker kicks in.

Reproducible:

Workaround: activate the screen locker manually from the panel button widget and wait for screen locker to kick in before closing the lid.

Comment 2 Marja Van Waes 2015-03-31 16:03:12 CEST
Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
