Description Juan Saravia 2013-05-22 07:27:37 CEST
Description of problem:
After installing Mageia 3 (using Spanish locale) and installing iBus, ibus-anthy, anthy, and all required dependencies, iBus initiates showing only an English input. Adding other languages in preferences is to no avail; iBus will not store them.

How reproducible:
Every time one tries to type a document using iBus IME.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install Mageia 3 (select Spanish as locale)
2.Add ibus, anthy, and all required dependencies for Japanese input
3.Log out and back in to activate iBus.
4.Right click on the ibus applet and open preferences to add languages
5. Scroll down and find Japanese. Select anthy and add.
6. ibus fails to remember your anthy selection (only English keyboard shows)
7. Use CTRL + space to try to switch languages. Nothing happens.

iBus has, however, changed the keyboard map from Spanish to English.

I installed Mageia 3 x86-64 DVD version (not the live DVD) and iBus is working perfectly with anthy. Curiously, although the same packages are installed, iBus does not seem to work as expected if you install Mageia 3 from the Live DVD.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
