No it's just not possible. Help is provided by documentation. We cannot reuse Mandriva documentation because of license. It will ask weeks of work to get proper one, which should happen for Mageia2. We are working on removing help button for final release to avoid getting these blank screens.

of course this is what i meant but miss explained. I started to work on hiding the Help buttons for mageia 1.
I'd send an untested patch to Anne for disabling all 'interactive' layer's help buttons, what was remainaing was pure gtk+ help buttons

Isn't it a bit easier to create one msg saying stg like "Help will be available in next Mageia...." in all of the now blank screens?

That much I understand too. But if one creates a few lines with the same msg for all help screens I was just guessing that might be a lot less work than hiding all those buttons....

In pre Beta 1, selecting the help button brings up a dialog with "Cannot display URL". (Writing from memory, may not be exact text).

There are help files available now, partly updated ones from Mandriva 2005LE Kamil is packaging them for beta2, so re-assigning this bug to him. The files still need to be improved, so if you test beta2 and see things that are wrong with the explanation in the help files, please file a new bug report (1 per issue) and assign it to doc-bugs@ml.mageia.org. The help won't be translated into other languages before it is good in English
