How reproducible:
Hard to predict. Maybe 30% of chance to get a kernel panic.


Steps to Reproduce:
1. install mageia on sony vaio Z + powerdeck (including a ati radeon graphic card)
2. boot
3. kernel panic

Missing firmware for you radeon card?
Is the package kernel-firware-nonfree installed?
Also attach the initrd.txt file resulting from running the following command:
lsinitrd /boot/initrd.img > /tmp/initrd.txt

No. Radeon firmware is provided by radeon-firmware-20130421-1.mga3.nonfree package which is installed.

kernel-firmware-nonfree was not installed but this package does not provide the radeon firmware.

Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
