Description Fabrice Boyrie 2013-05-09 08:04:51 CEST
I have a Mageia 2 computer installed with encrypted partitions (luks+dm-crypt). When I launch MAgeia3 RC installer, it doesn't asks me for luks password and all encrypted partition are greyed. And it doesn't proposes me to update.

I'll attach the bug file from installer.
Just to explain the structure:
/dev/sda, /dev/sdb, 2 3TB hard disk, with GPT
  ->/dev/sda1+/dev/sdb1 -> software raid 1 -> /dev/md0
  ->logical volume on top of /dev/md0: /dev/vg-mga/1 and /dev/vg-mga/2
  -> dm-crypt+luks on /dev/vg-mga/1 and /dev/vg-mga/2
/dev/sdc: small SSD for system (bios boot on /dev/sdc)
   /dev/sdc1: ext2 /boot partition (clear)
   /dev/sdc5 dm-crypt+luks -> /boot partition
   /dev/sdc6 dm-crypt+luks -> /     partition

 Live upgrade with urpmi worked (but you should upgrade the documentation (reboot with the good entry for /usr/ move before urpmi --auto-update))

May be encryption support is not important for your target, but by example, in France CNRS requires all computers to be encrypted.

Hi Fabrice
Just an update to fellow users:
I suceeded to use mga4b2 iso DVD to install to an existing encrypted LVM.
Unfortunately current (later) installer (using network install) fail.

Your setup is more complicated than mine, but it would be nice if it would work, and i wish to set up a new system similarly :)

You may want to test when bug 12070 is solved :)

I just fixed stage1 which was mistakenly compiled for automatic install for my personal network :-(

Is this bug still valid? It saw no action since december 2013

10 months later, so closing as OLD

Please reopen if it's still valid for Mga5 or (preferably) cauldron.

Mga6dev1 isos should be released this month.
