Description Mathieu Jobin 2013-05-02 01:01:31 CEST
Description of problem:

most of the screen during the install has quite a bit of free space on the dialog.
many people would not click the advance menu being scared of too technical stuff.
but often, these options would be useful. one case that comes to my mind is enabling NTP

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3 beta

How reproducible:

everytime

Steps to Reproduce:
1.fresh install

Possible Solutions:

under the "Advance menu" option, there could be a summary of what is behind it.
so you don't have to click on it if you are not interested.

I have yet to go through the install a second time. but if it is not done already, the "advance" options could be written for common mortals. "Keeping your computer time in sync using the Internet" is something most people could understand versus "Enabling NTP"

once its readable to all, it is no longer "Advanced"

my point, is that many "Advanced" feature were not so "Advanced" and some users might be missing out thinking they can't handle it.

Thanks for the suggestion and sorry that it was no answered sooner (probably that an answer to comment #1 was expected, first).

Assigning to the Mageia Tools maintainer group for decision.
