Description Lewis Smith 2013-04-30 17:57:03 CEST
Description of problem:
Booting the live/install media for either 'Run' (live) or 'Install' or 'Safe mode' grinds to a premature halt. It passes a couple of default splash screens before settling down to streaming console O/P, which ends:

[FAILED] Failed to start LSB: ATI Events Daemon
See 'systemctl status atieventsd.service' for details

But dmesg (see note at end) O/P has several 'fglrx' complaints near the end, and terminates:
   systemd-readahead [nnn]: Out of memory
where nnn seems to vary.
This is apparently *not* bug 5426.

Other virtual consoles are operative, so I can investigate - as requested - up to a point.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
M3RC Gnome LiveDVD x86_64 dated 24 April 2013

How reproducible:
At every boot attempt. Here from USB flash drive (the DVD is not recognised for booting by the EFI firmware).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select the USB flash drive from F12 EFI boot menu
2. Select any of the 3 offered Mageia boot menu options (run, install, safe)
3. Wait a few seconds...

I have captured the dmesg O/P, but see no way of uploading it; it is too big for inserting directly.
