When it is freezed i cannot do anything with keyboard (ctrl+alt+fn or ctrl+alt+backspace or ctrl+alt+syst+reiusb) I have to reset the pc from the button Created attachment 3826 [details]

In this case i had not only a freeze but also the extinction of the monitor. So the graphics card stopped working too.
Since 2 days i pulled out the cover of the pc and i cleaned the dust with the aspirator. Since then, i cannot reproduce the freeze, and before the cleaning it was present every day! FIXED: Cleanup. :) Status:

davidwhodgins David could you have a look if you find some time ? If you remember i had this type of problem before: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6285 and i have a new issue with this pc: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9746 Maybe i need to change a part of the hardware ? Since two days i dont have the issue anymore (without any modification from my part) If it comes back again i will reopen the report Status:

RESOLVED It is back :( I noticed that sometimes, on the first boot and if there is no freeze, when i enter in kde, the system is not freezed i can move the mouse, the plasma responds etc, but i cannot launch eg konqueror. Then, i open the terminal and i don't have prompt at all. Status:

REOPENED I installed Mageia 3 , i have the same problem The most of the times freezes when entering to the DE, KDE or icewm I think that when the freeze happened this morning, i heard a clic (like a relay) from the hard disc may be, like it was turned off Version:

3 I tried without acpi without succes. Now, when i have the freeze it happens just before enter to the desktop enviroment The keyboard shortcuts are working, i press ctrl+alt+f2 and i am in a login prompt. I try to login but after put my password i see messages like the output of the dmesg command. There are messages about nvrm driver dont support in console mode, something like this, i dont know how to find them after in my system. i booted the system at 17:40 and i had to do a ctrl+alt+RESIUSB reset at 17:42:17
Today i dont have the problem The only modification that i did is to change the grub from graphical menu to text menu I believe strongly that this will solve my problem because i cannot reproduce any more the bug 9746 too. :( I have the problem again. I tried also with linux-fb on boot. But i cannot reproduce the bug 9746 any more since i boot with non graphics grub. Now it freezes either in ksplash either just after entering in KDE. I have two type of freezes. One, i can reboot only with hard reset and the other i can reboot with key shortcuts Always happens on boot after having shutdown completely. The normal reboot does nt reproduce the freeze.

tmb The 12 August, i reinstalled the system (clean installation except the /home), and it worked after. I brought the computer to a technician, and he putted some thermic silicon behind the GPU radiator and he cleaned with a cleaning product the RAM pins. Since then, i cannot reproduce the freeze or any other related symptôme. I close the ticket. Thanks for the support. Status:
