Iâm unable to reproduce that behaviour with Windows 7 home premium. Iâve got no other fonts installed than the default ones

Converting fonts might be very CPU consuming so I guess it also depends on your hardware.

Here with a core2duo ULV 7300 (ie, not very powerful it doesnât take more than 2 minutes.

Could you give the output of the following commands
- lspcidrake -v
- cat /proc/cpuinfo

Could you also tell us how many fonts you have installed on windows ?

I have Athlon X2 QL-64 (2.1 GHz dual core), it should be faster.
I have Windows Vista Bussiness and there are only default fonts (if there are
no other fonts in updates). I don't know where to find how much font there are,
in /usr/share/fonts/drakfont (as far as I know fonts from Windows should be
here) is about 600 files, 300 MB. Getting fonts took 12 minutes (most of the
time the system wasn't usable for any other activity).

I don't know if it's a bug, but if it's ok and just take a lot of time, it
would be good, if possible, to make system usable for low-consuming
applications during installation.

Did anyone reproduce this more recently, like in Mageia 1 rc (or in Mageia 1 official)?

It is far less noticeable on more modern faster CPUs. But I don't think anybody's touched drakfont in ages, so wherever it was a problem, it probably still is.

On my 6 year old ntel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz, importing the
windows fonts takes less than a minute.

Closing as works for me.
