I assume you mean kernel-frimware-nonfree Do you have any hw that actually needs the firmware in that rpm ? CC:
(none) =>
tmb Yes, kernel-firmware-nonfree, I changed the summary. I have no idea if I am currently using it, but it's on a live usb so, potentially, I will need it when I plug it on the next machine. Summary:
kernel-firmware-extra is marked as orphaned on Mageia 3 LiveCD =>
kernel-firmware-nonfree is marked as orphaned on Mageia 3 LiveCD ok, can you attach output of lspcidrake -v and the "removing" is only done for the system on you install on, it wont be removed from the usb stick as the install image is mounted readonly, any Changes you do only happends on the rw stacked overlayfs sitting on top of the frozen image Created attachment 3742 [details]
lspcidrake output
OK, so kernel-firmware-nonfree is not needed on your system. The one that uses firmware is: iwlwifi : Intel Corporation|Centrino Advanced-N 6200 [NETWORK_OTHER] (rev: 35) but that is provided in separate iwlwifi-agn-ucode so no bug here. Status:
