sysadmin-bugs, thierry.vignaud It boot to runlevel 3 now that "nokms" has been added to the kernel parameters. (And startx does start X.) nokms solves the installed system problem, but not booting from a live CD. Point 3 looks like a manifestation of bug 9711. I think that I have seen bug reports related to points 2 and 5. Booting the live CD requires; 1) interupt grub with F6, select default 2) UP ARROW to avoid an accidental installation 3) add "nokms" 4) add "3" <enter> 5) login as root, run XFdrake, de-select "enable translucency" 6) login as live, startx My video card is a nVidia NV11 [GeForce2 MX/MX400]. Hi Peter. Can you tell us if this bug still happens with Mageia 5 RC? Keywords:
