Description Levchenko Roman 2013-04-09 01:14:05 CEST
Description of problem:
Blackscreen appears, with text: BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at 0000022f00000250
IP: [<ffffffff810b78f1>] module_put+0x21/0x90
PGD 0
Thread overran stack, or stack corrupted...

And so on. Full text, which was on screen, is in the syslog.txt, lines approximately from 9160 to 9266.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):Mageia3 beta4 x86_64, Ndiswrapper 1.58, windows driver for TP-Link 7200nd (rt3070) - TL-WN7200ND_WHQL_100730, only this driver, for winXPx64.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use windows driver by Ndiswrapper for connection with TP-Link 7200
2. load module rt2780 (rmmod rt2800usb, modprobe ndiswrapper)
3. torn the usb netcard TP-Link into usb port and up the connection
4. The blackscreen appears for from 1 to several minutes, when connection is active only.

The main reason to use only that driver, is match more power WiFi signal I get, than using rt2800usb or smsn else. The signal power higher for 15-25%. It is checked. Speed of connection grows too. So, it could be great, to make a sensibility of wifi netcard match higher, than it is now.

Reproducible:

Hi Levchenko,

We tend to ignore enhancement requests until the more severe bugs have been handled, which is never :-/

Anyway, is this bug still valid for current cauldron?

If so, do you mind attaching output.txt which is the result of running, as root:
  journalctl -ab > output.txt

(Increasing severity to minor, which'll still put this report near the end of the ToDo queue, but will also give it some more visibility)

Good day.
At this moment, I can't say, that I have checked for work of driver completely, to be sure. Anyway, the rt2800usb driver works good.
I will load the rt2780 driver (module) from time to time. to try more power WiFi signal.
Now it looks stable, so it's not necessary to worry about it.
This bug can be ignored.
I'll write if something interesting will appear.
Thank you.

Mass-reassigning all bugs with "kernel" in the Source RPM field that are assigned to tmb, to the kernel packagers group, because tmb is currently MIA.

Assignee: tmb => kernel
