Description of problem: There were a number of packeges updated. It looks like there were some problem with video card (initialization - ?).

I'm going to attach two pictures of booting process.

Of course, beta2 dual CD includes 2.6.38.4 kernel and installation doesn't boot.

A few kernel updates didn't help much. The last screen is different but X doesn't start anyway.

Try pressing alt+ctrl+f7, and alt+ctrl+f12 to see if there is more info.

could you try to (re)install radeon-firmware ?
the firmware seems not to be available regarding the first picture.

I'm loggin to 2.6.38.3 kernel and X works fine. 

I have slightly different error messages with kernel updates. 

I'll try alt+ctrl+f7, and alt+ctrl+f12 later.

Pressing alt+ctrl+f7 and alt+ctrl+f12 doesn't change anything. Still the same black screen.

When I filed this bug after final screen message I had monitor "No signa" message. Now I had just a black screen. 

I'm gonna post a few latest pictures. Just in case.

I can login intu GUI after default dual CD installation (rc1, kernel 2.6.38.6-desktop-1.mga). 

The instalation gives me all the messages (attacments one, two and 2.1) but instead of going to 'three'  it starts GDM. 

I'll install fgrlx later.

I installed x11-driver-video-fglrx (fglrx-8.850-1.mga1.src.rpm). Immediately after installation, logout/login gives the same error as in attachment 'three'. 

After rebooting, it just works.

This is a duplicate of bug 1471.
