paiiou I think I might have gone a step too far in the report. Much better solution to this issue than using aforementioned (10.3 and 11.1) versions of Flash Player would be to provide 11.2 version built for processors with no SSE2 support. And if such build can't be attained then the aforementioned ways may be taken into consideration when looking for a workaround. This message is a reminder that Mageia 2 is nearing its end of life. Approximately one month from now Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 2. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '2'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 2's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Mageia 2 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- The Mageia Bugsquad

Cauldron Flash Player 10.3 is not getting updates anymore. Therefore I suggest to add a package (build only for i586) supplying v11.1 with caveats saying that this version is already outdated thus insecure and used at one's sole responsibility and that one may go better with alternatives but anyway it might solve one's issues with content created in flash technology. There's of course the alternative to close the issue as WONTFIX and to add some info somewhere (e.g. at the Mageia's wiki) about a way how to make flash content usable on a processor with no SSE2 support. minor This bug is unfortunate, but I can't see us making it easy for people to add software with (widely-exploited) known security vulnerabilities to their systems. I guess those of us with these systems just have to replace them, or wait for HTML5 to replace Flash. Perhaps Mozilla's Shumway may provide a solution at some point also. http://mozilla.github.io/shumway/ Status:
