Description of problem:

The latest version of the game engine is not packaged for Mageia 3. That version is required to play online.

How reproducible:

Install Spring, go to SpringLobby and try to play online.

2. connect to online game lobby
3. try to enter a game

Hi Joe, thanks for reporting this bug.

You don't particularly say which version is needed to play online ("latest" is relative, and the Spring project is particularly active).

As of now the latest version (94.1) is packaged in the development release of Mageia 4, Cauldron. We generally do not provide new software versions in stable releases, to prevent introducing bugs and regressions. Only security fixes and bug fixes warrant to push updates through our QA.

It would be nice to backport version 94.1 to Mageia 3, but the backports are not open yet (and there is no ETA for it), so for now I close the bug. I see on the forum link you gave that you managed to run the portable version of Spring, so I guess you can now play online on Mageia 3. Please reopen the bug report if you see that we open the backports on Mageia 3 (it would be announced on the blog I suppose).
