can you copy the list of packages in the "remove unused hardware support" ?
or if you have currently the OS with box unticked you can get it with "remove-unused-packages" (should be the same)
>Nvidia drives could not be installed due to missing kernel module neuvo drivers >installed instead
have you the corresponding -devel for your current kernel ?
also we had some nvidia issue which are now resolved since updates but I don't know if this can be related to somethingSource RPM:

I could not seem to actually make a selection and paste the results as text, Instead I took a screenshot. As can be seen it suggests removing the nvidia kernel parts, which of course is problematic on a system that runs an nvidia card.
I do not have the devel packages for the kernel installed. This is a raw install of the from the live dvd, no additional packages installed.

Setting to release blocker, because the similar bug 7641 (for ATI Radeon) was a realease blocker, too Assigning to tmb instead of to tv, because this is about draklive-install and tmb was assignee for bug 7641 Priority:

3beta2 We would need /var/log/gdm* stuff too Am I to read this as you want all the gdm logs for the installed instance? yes please all files starting by /var/log/gdm CC:

I see same strange JS errors in this bug https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9251 seems not related to draklive could you try the beta3 ? I will try a clean install (keeping home dir) with beta 3 in the next few days. I have tried beta 3 and I notice that the nvidia specific packages are still listed for removal during install. A quick glance indicates that it is the same packages listed for removal. The good news is that the computer starts and is usable. This means I can then install the proprietary drivers if I so choose. While I think that it would be better to not remove the packages during install, I see no reason to keep this bug open. Please close this bug as it is fixed in beta 3. As per comment 11, closing. Status:

Created attachment 3575 [details] output of lspcidrake -v I booted my laptop from beta 2 from live dvd - gnome and clicked "install to hard drive" I leave the tick in "remove unused hardware support" in one of the following dialogues and installation proceeds. After a short while I get prompted to reboot and I do that. After the reboot I am taken through a few screens where I set root password and create a user. Once I click next, the box goes grey and nothing happens for minutes (I left the laptop). I come back and I get the Gnome crash screen "Contact a sys admin". I press my username in the top right and chose "power off". The computer seems to do something (screen goes black, disk indicator lights up), and then I get the gnome crash screen again. If I press ctrl+alt+delete I get the shutdown "menu" and can chose "poweroff" but nothing happens. If I press the power button the laptop goes to sleep. It resumes to the crash screen. The only way to recover any use of the computer is to remove the battery when it is running. The machine crashes at every reboot, It is useless. *IF* I untick the box during install, the machine installs fine and works. I tried it twice same result both times. I have a recollection of seeing a "Nvidia drives could not be installed due to missing kernel module neuvo drivers installed instead" or some such thing after the reboot. In the list of packages to remove I see the nvidia-desktop kernel. This laptop has an Nvidia card. please find the output of lspcidrake -v attached. Not sure if is relevant, but there was a mga2 install on this machine, and I formatted / but not /home.
