MGA 3 beta 2

Changing KDM settings in KDE system settings -> login screen leads into failure window if button "apply" gets pressed.
Normal behaviour should be to ask for root password.

Failure window text:
Unable to authenticate/execute the action: DBus Backend error: could not contact the helper. Connection error: Could not get owner of name 'org.kde.kcontrol.kcmkdm': no such name. Message error: Failed to execute program /usr/libexec/dbus-1/dbus-daemon-launch-helper: Success (code 7)

Please, could you give the group of dbus-daemon-launch-helper, with the result of
  ls -l /usr/libexec/dbus-1/dbus-daemon-launch-helper

I guess that it's due to a bug in dbus (see bug 9326) and that reinstalling dbus by
  urpmi --replacepkgs dbus
will fix it.

How did you install mga 3 beta 2, with LiveDVD or DVD installer ?

The ls command output is:

I've used the Beta 2 LiveDVD for install.

Now I've the same failure on a second machine. I've used the 64bit Beta 3 LiveDVD this time.

I'll try re-installing dbus...

'urpmi --replacepkgs dbus' fixed it!

Thanks for the feedback.
Colin has fixed a bug in dbus-1.6.8-4. We will see with beta4 LiveDVD if it's definitively fixed.

Sorry, but this bug saw no action since over 2 yrs ago. 
No cauldron package has stayed the same since then.
