my system:
mdam /dev/md5 /dev/sd[a-d]5 raid-level=5
md5 is a pv
volume group vgmageia on md5
/ mounted on vgmageia/lvroot
/boot mounted on vgmageia/lvboot
/usr mounted on vgmageia/lvusr
idem for /home
(since I use grub, the partition sda1 is bootable and contains a copy of /boot)
everything fine works with kernel 3.4.24 -<desktop,server>-3.mga2
when trying to boot under kernel 3.4.32-...-2.mga2, splashes wrote
"vgmageia not found", and boot process stopped
Tried to reformate the initrd with the command dracut:
dracut -vf /boot/initrd-3.4.32-server-2.mga2.img 3.4.32-server-2.mga2
(the same for desktop kernel)
but the issue remains

the same issue occurs with x86_64  3.4.32-desktop,server-2.mga2 kernel

now on mageia2 x86_64 normally boots under kernel 3.4.32-...-2.mga2, but mga2 i586 doesn't.
There is a difference between this 2 distrib:
I installed the x86_64 ex-nihilo: i.e. with the installation DVD, when the i586 was an upgrade on line of an already existing mageia1-i586
When I upgraded this latter system many troubles appeared, I have finally solved (see bugs 5746, 8901 and 8968)

I have to say that when I upgraded online the mageia1 32 bits, the package mdadm disappeared; I have just reinstalled it

This message is a reminder that Mageia 2 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately one month from now Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 2. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '2'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 2's end of life.

Mageia 2 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''22 November''. Mageia 2 is no
longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or
bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.
