Description of problem: I installed GNOME, WindowMaker, and Liferea. 

Liferea is running on Workspace 4, Firefox (17.0.2) - on Workspace 1. Right click in Liferea on  "Launch link in browser" gives error "Fatal: cannot retrieve browser command!"

what is your conf in liferea ? (tools>pref>browser)

There was nothing selected by default.

Selecting "Enable browser plugins" fixed the problem.
