Description Perilio Castrol 2013-01-31 23:36:10 CET
Description of problem:
Ampache is not working properly in Mageia 3 beta 2.
I installed it and when I try to visit localhost/ampache in firefox it just open a blank page, and if I test it in rekonq it complains about network problems. Visiting that URL should open the configuration page of ampache but it does not.

In Mageia 2 it works perfectly.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Mageia 3 beta 2.
Ampache 3.5.4

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install ampache
2. Try to visit localhost/ampache or 127.0.0.1/ampache

can you please check logs ?

according to ampache.org they are in /var/log/ampache (install rsyslog if you don't want to deal with journalctl)

I don't know how to use well rsyslog. I tried to search ampache with the tool draklog but It didn't find anything.

The file /var/log/ampache does not exist, but there is a folder called http which contains the following files:

access_log
access_log.1
error_log
error_log.1

These files might be related to the problem, shall I upload them??

have you read the doc ie /usr/share/doc/ampache/INSTALL ?
Comment 4 Perilio Castrol 2013-02-03 19:49:32 CET
Yes.

In Mageia 2, visiting localhost/ampache for the first time opened a wizard to configure ampache using the web interface.

In Mageia 3 it doesn't. I tried to configure ampache by modifiying ampache.cfg.php as it is explained in the INSTALL document without success.

I'm not an expert in web servers, but as in previous versions of Mageia the wizard worked out of the box, I reported the bug.

Could be related to apache 2.4 config

Can you check the /etc/httpd/conf/webapps.d/ampache.conf file and see if it has

Order deny,allow
Deny from all
Allow from <something here>

Please note if it also has a line saying Require, probably Require local.

If not then it is missing apache 2.4 configuration, if it does then please also add the output of 'rpm -qa | grep apache'

In fact nevermind, you can see from the spec file
http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/ampache/current/SPECS/ampache.spec?view=markup

Not sure who the maintainer is, Manuel can maybe add them.
