In fact, compiling collada-dom and running "make install" as root instead of sudo installs header files, but they are not recognized by the scons script (even after deleting cache file). Update : they are actually found, but looks like libxml2 is not installed (it is installed). Investigating, I'll report on that later. I checked and the exact same version of that library on Fedora17 works perfectly with mitsuba... Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.
