Description alain deraedt 2013-01-30 13:30:40 CET
I attempt to upgrade a mageia1_i586 with iso DVD:
I have booted the iso DVD and selected "install mageia 2" from th Grub menu, and
selected "upgrade official mageia 1" in the installer
When asking "set up one another source":
- if I select "none", the installation process stops with the message: "an error occurs: using one big transaction"
if I select "ftp source: ftp://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr" upgrade process normally begins, but stalls a couple of hours after.
The same by replacing iso DVD by an USB stick built with unetbootin

Nevertheless, upgrading was successfully achieved without issue using "upgrading on line" process, with the following command lines on a terminal:
urpmi.removemedia -a
urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist http://mirrors.mageia.org/api/mageia.2.i586.list
urpmi --replacefiles --auto-update --auto
