I submitted new release of HexChat that provides package hexchat-sysinfo. Please test and reopen if you have any problems with it.

HexChat: 2.9.4 ** OS: Linux 3.8.0-desktop-0.rc5.1.mga3 x86_64 ** Distro: "Mageia" "thornicroft" 3 ** CPU: 6 x AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor (AuthenticAMD) @ 3.60GHz ** RAM: Physical: 15.7GB, 69.0% free ** Disk: Total: 3.6TB, 14.2% free ** VGA: 1002:68ba ** Sound: HDA-Intel - HDA ATI SB1: USB-Audio - USB 2.0 PC Camera2: HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic ** Ethernet: 10ec:8168 **
Uptime: 2d 14h 25m 23s **

Some reason it is not printing the correct names for the hardware

it says this

SysInfo Current Settings:
SysInfo pciids: /usr/share/hwdata/pci.ids
SysInfo format: %B%1:%B %2 **
SysInfo percent: 1
SysInfo pci.ids file not found! You might want to adjust your pciids setting with /SYSINFO SET pciids (you can query its current value with /SYSINFO LIST).

once set to the correct value it prints correct

SysInfo pciids is set to: /usr/share/pci.ids
HexChat: 2.9.4 ** OS: Linux 3.8.0-desktop-0.rc5.1.mga3 x86_64 ** Distro: "Mageia" "thornicroft" 3 ** CPU: 6 x AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor (AuthenticAMD) @ 800MHz ** RAM: Physical: 15.7GB, 68.5% free ** Disk: Total: 3.6TB, 14.2% free ** VGA: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Juniper XT [AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series] ** Sound: HDA-Intel - HDA ATI SB1: USB-Audio - USB 2.0 PC Camera2: HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic ** Ethernet: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Comment 6 Simon Putt 2013-01-29 22:37:24 CET
upgraded to the new version just pushed, and after doing this to wipe out my old settings

/sysinfo reset

it now works correct (i assume it would also work on fresh install now)

many thanks for adding and fixing this
