Description Simon Putt 2013-01-28 19:10:13 CET
i noticed a few days ago that in mageia 3 beta 2 (the only one i have installed) the standard symlinks for optical drives seem to be missing

/dev/dvd
/dev/dvdrw
/dev/cdrw
/dev/scd0

the only one present is

/dev/cdrom

i did read this was removed upstream in udev and some distros have added them back, maybe mageia should too.

Maybe a duplicate of bug 8524 ?
or bug 8524 a duplicate of this one ?

not sure, but it seems a udev problem

This was fixed before mga3 release by this patch:
