Description of problem:

With grub2, it is not possible to install radeon-firmware


urpmi radeon-firmware =>
'echec: unknown bootloader method'

Remark:
I noticed that grub2 is placed on sda1 and not on sda, as grub legacy

are
 /usr/sbin/bootloader-config --action rebuild-initrds
or /sbin/display_driver_helper --setup-boot-kms 

working ?

ok there is a line, no need to check more
"(when_config_changed) at /usr/lib/libDrakX/bootloader.pm line 2023"
