using Mplayer to play video files results in unsynced audio, other players such as vlc and totem play the same file fine, mplayer prints some errors about ffmpeg

I guess liba52 is useless for mplayer. Otherwise the problem ("Unsupported AVSampleFormat 8") is discussed in bug #8704 (which focuses on audio encoding, a separate problem).

Audio decoding using ffmpeg (ffac3 and maybe others) is fixed with mplayer-1.1-9.r35756.1.mga3 .
