Description of problem:
When upgrading from mga1 to mga2 I followed the graphical guide presented by the update applet. I ticked "download all packages", since my /var system did not have enough space on it I created a new directory in my (non-root) homedir and started the process. I then got a popup saying that the directory did not have the right owner. However I could not change it, nor did it tell me what ownership it should have. (I terminated the process and started again, but this time I did not download the packages first).

How reproducible:
Install mga1 follow upgrade instructions on the mageia 2 release notes. When given the option choose to download all packages before install. Point the download to a directory owned by a non root user and click 'ok'
