Description Peter D 2011-04-17 08:33:34 CEST
Description of problem:

After an "urpmi --auto-select" a new kernel was installed and the system rebooted the old kernel was still in use. After running "lilo -v" and rebooting that changed.

The system might be confused because grub is installed on the root partition and lilo is installed on the mbr. (My test machine has a complicated multi-installation arrangement and I want both lilo and grub.)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Mageia 1 Beta 1

How reproducible:

I think that it has happed twice out of two kernel upgrades.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install lilo
2. upgrade the kenel
3. reboot

Reproducible:

This one is probably my fault, lilo.conf was invalid and I didn't notice any error messages.

Yes I think that this can be closed. The most recent kernel upgrade did run lilo. I guess that it was all my fault in the first place. 8-(
