Description Vladimir Gurevich 2012-12-20 18:27:34 CET
Description of problem:

After watching a video (typically either a YouTube video or having a video conference call over Skype), the X windows screen starts flickering quite terribly.

Flickering usially happens when a certain widow has the focus. Also, sometimes it can be stopped if that window is moved around into some "magic" spot.

The real solution so far is to restart the X server.

How reproducible:

It happens every day, but is fairly random. Usually it takes more than one video to get to that point, but sometimes even watching 10 is OK.

Hardware: Dell Latitude D830, Nvidia Quattro NVS 135M
