balcaen.john hum we do have a « join mageia community already » icon, no ? It's sort of redundant ? Also i'm not sure that i should be the one to decide what's to add by default on default kde's desktop (& having a lot of files available is quite ugly from my point of view :p ) so reassigning to bug team (maybe install team is more appropriate since if we're doing it for kde there's strictly no reason to not have it on xfce/gnome/whatelse CC:

balcaen.john Yep I think it's also redundant with the community icon Summary:

About Icon on desktop (In reply to comment #1) > hum we do have a « join mageia community already » icon, no ? > It's sort of redundant ? Well no, the intended function is totally different. I have many test systems on one machine and it's very handy to just click and check if it's Cauldron i586 or x86_64 or mga1 x86_64 etc.. that I am using. I'm easy either way - I suggested it before the community icon appeared. I always add it to my desktop as I find it very useful, whereas I always remove the community icon as it's no use once you have joined. Just my $0.02 ;)

djmarian4u I am against this. This is useless, you can set your background Mga1. Mga1 64-bit. CC:

n54 (In reply to comment #4) > I am against this. This is useless, you can set your background Mga1. Mga1 > 64-bit. Well that is *your* opinion and if you hate it you can always delete it - just like I have to delete the community icon on each install. I find it very useful as I can't be bothered messing with backgrounds. Moreover I tend to use a common /home with identical setup on each system. At least it *has* an on-going function. Unlike the community icon which *is* useless once you have joined, so most people will delete it, leaving no Mageia identity on the desktop. Anyhow - as I said before I am easy either way, it's no big deal and there are more pressing matters. ;) Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja Keywords:
