additionally, the device info shows 2 different icons, one is like a circle, and the other is like a "X", i have no idea what it means...

I don't think it's "instead", 64bit counterparts of those packages are already installed or proposed to be installed.

This is the intended behaviour, they're suggested for compatibility with 32bit-only apps that use audio (e.g. skype, Adobe flash... etc).

The same way firefox suggests nspluginwrapper which pulls a load of 32bit packages.

i guess that would be possible, i didn't think of that.

any idea what the 2 different icons are? if i were to guess, i would think that the X would represent broken hardware or bad drivers... but i would doubt that.

Icons are a different bug -> new report.
Comment 6 AL13N 2011-04-17 20:21:55 CEST
ah, so it is a bug? i'll try and file a new one for that.
Comment 7 Anne Nicolas 2011-04-28 12:27:30 CEST
Icons are temporary one.
Comment 8 Thierry Vignaud 2011-08-01 15:26:45 CEST
Wasn't this just a temporary bug due to missing package from the dual iso?

the original bug could be explained as that, and the secondary bug was intended for mageia 1 to be fixed, and that may have been fixed before release. In any case, i haven't seen it since, so i guess it can be resolved.
