NEEDINFO yes, still present. how do you mean what hardware? what do you want to know? To file a bug report upstream, follow the instructions in /usr/share/doc/udev-doc/README.keymap.txt Source RPM:

udev are you sure this is a udev error? wouldn't it be in some driver or something? oh and how exactly should it enable bluetooth? i can't seem to find anything like it, perhaps that key should power it on/connect it to usb bus? (In reply to comment #2) > yes, still present. > > how do you mean what hardware? what do you want to know? And again: still present? Which Acer laptop is it? At least model/type number, and if the keyboard layout isn't the same on all models with that number: the keyboard lay-out as well. CC:

marja11 Acer Aspire 7530G Series - 724G32MN this is a belgian azerty keyboard layout (but don't think the side buttons are part of keyboard?) @ AL13N I understand the problem is still there. If you can replace the keyboard without replacing those buttons, indeed, than the side buttons aren't part of the keyboard :) Anyway, I thought those easy launch buttons were set in the keymap, because I've seen things like: 245 0x1008ff94 (XF86Bluetooth) in a keymap, but now I discovered that there is no relation between the keycode of those buttons (as shown with showkey) and what's behind that keycode in the keymap. I guess those keymap settings are overruled by some settings somewhere else. In /lib/udev/keymaps/acer, I found: 0xD7 bluetooth # (toggle) on-to-off 0xD8 bluetooth # (toggle) off-to-on There are more acer's in /lib/udev/keymaps, but no 7530G, so I guess Ahmad was right after all that you should report upstream. The document he referred to, isn't there, btw. If you do report upstream, please put the link to the report in the URL field cc'ing Anssi, who patched udev in april Keywords:

(none) i saw keycode 233 when using xev on it but it was bound to XF86ScreenBrightnessUp or something. i'm wondering if this udev thing can be used for that. anyone know? ok, i've been trying to test this locally before i update i've seen some other exceptions to acer rules that enable bluetooth on 0xD9 (which is the key), so i modified the rules file and rebooted, but it appears it's still bound to brightnessup instead of bluetooth... do i need to remake an initrd or something? ok, i sort of found out how it works, but then come to the conclusion that likely this laptop may not even have a working bt, it's totally unclear, but having no rfkill entry, i'm giving up, closing issue.
