Patches for kernel: https://github.com/magos-linux/magos-linux/tree/master/make_MagOS/files/patches/kernel unionfs is broken with recent kernels. I'm not sure aufs is in better shape. CC:

thierry.vignaud Aufs works well. Those distributions every month rebuild kernel with aufs, and no problem. OverlayFS don't support several .xzm modules, with which MagOS and MageiaOS works, don't work with many branches. Aufs is the best way for Mageia and for distributions, based on Mageia. We lost MagOS distro, because no aufs support in Mageia and there is aufs support in Rosa - now MagOS is based on Rosa. We can lose other community distros. Patches for aufs: http://magos.sibsau.ru/repository/rpms/srpms/ the "Aufs is the best way" is not really true, it's just an opinion about anonther stackable filesystem... I used for some time to patch in aufs support, but when upstream aufs started to lag behind upstream kernel.org releases I dropped it as it became an extra maintenance burden I didn't need since we dont rely on it. iirc it still does several "vfs hacks" that upstream kernel.org & vfs maintainers are not happy about. And since overlayfs is the one we currently rely on, and the one being merged upstream in kernel.org, that one has primary focus. If upstream aufs has picked up speed tracking upstream kernels, I might consider adding it again, provided it wont break overlayfs. In kernel from Nicco there are aufs and overlayfs together. All pathes are here: https://github.com/magos-linux/magos-linux/tree/master/make_rpms in kernel* directories. SRPMS are here: http://magos.sibsau.ru/repository/rpms/srpms/ Please, add shwh support also. aufs upstream seems to have improved somewhat, so I have re-added support added to next update kernel for mga3: http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages?view=revision&revision=449451 I will also add it to Cauldron when I rebase to 3.10 series... Thank you very much, Thomas. I'll be waiting new kernels with aufs. Did you add shwh support also? There are all patches in my prev. comment. Please add all, what are usefull. aufs is now in mga3 update kernel and in cauldron in 3.10 series kernel Status:
