can you attach the output of lspcidrake -v ? Component:
Installer =>
RPM Packages Manuel: Would you like that output before I manually tell it the correct graphics card or after? Thanks Jeffrey Bruton It doesn't matters: that output wont change CC:

thierry.vignaud Thierry: For some reason now, after many attempts, I can't get into the GUI at all booting off the above mentioned live CD-ROM. Basically just hangs now at a blank screen...but it still shuts down nicely when I press the power button once, indicating the system is up, just not showing any GUI. Also I can go to another console (F2, F3, etc.) and login fine. It would be way easier for me to boot off the HD which has Mageia 2, and then get you the output Manuel mentioned. Is that an OK method or does it need to be running Mageia 3 in order to get the output you are looking for? Thanks Jeffrey Bruton Thierry: Here is the output from lspcidrake -v when in Mageia 2: [jbruton@localhost ~]$ lspcidrake -v ssb : Broadcom Corporation|BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller [NETWORK_OTHER] (vendor:14e4 device:4318 subv:1799 subd:7011) (rev: 02) Card:ATI Mach 64-based cards: ATI Technologies Inc|Rage Mobility M3 AGP 2x [DISPLAY_VGA] (vendor:1002 device:4c46 subv:1028 subd:00b1) (rev: 02) unknown : 3Com Corporation|Mini PCI 56k Winmodem [COMMUNICATION_OTHER] (vendor:10b7 device:1007 subv:10b7 subd:615b) (rev: 10) 3c59x : 3Com Corporation|3c556 Hurricane CardBus [Cyclone] [NETWORK_ETHERNET] (vendor:10b7 device:6055 subv:10b7 subd:6456) (rev: 10) snd_maestro3 : ESS Technology|ES1983S Maestro-3i PCI Audio Accelerator [MULTIMEDIA_AUDIO] (vendor:125d device:1998 subv:1028 subd:00b1) (rev: 10) i2c_piix4 : Intel Corporation|82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI [BRIDGE_OTHER] (vendor:8086 device:7113) (rev: 03) uhci_hcd : Intel Corporation|82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB [SERIAL_USB] (vendor:8086 device:7112) (rev: 01) ata_piix : Intel Corporation|82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 IDE [STORAGE_IDE] (vendor:8086 device:7111) (rev: 01) unknown : Intel Corporation|82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ISA [BRIDGE_OTHER] (vendor:8086 device:7110) (rev: 02) yenta_socket : Texas Instruments|PCI1420 PC card Cardbus Controller [BRIDGE_CARDBUS] (vendor:104c device:ac51 subv:1400 subd:0000) yenta_socket : Texas Instruments|PCI1420 PC card Cardbus Controller [BRIDGE_CARDBUS] (vendor:104c device:ac51 subv:1c00 subd:0000) shpchp : Intel Corporation|440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX AGP bridge [BRIDGE_PCI] (vendor:8086 device:7191) (rev: 03) unknown : Intel Corporation|440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX Host bridge [BRIDGE_HOST] (vendor:8086 device:7190) (rev: 03) hub : Linux 3.3.8-desktop-2.mga2 uhci_hcd|UHCI Host Controller [Hub|Unused|Full speed (or root) hub] (vendor:1d6b device:0001) [jbruton@localhost ~]$ Install is probably choosing Mach 64 since that is what its getting probing the hardware (if I'm reading the output correctly). Even though the install may be correctly choosing the driver based on the hardware probe, it still doesn't work and needs to be changed to the "Rage 128-based cards" driver...however in light of the above, its probably not the installers fault. Please let me know if you need any more information. Thanks Jeffrey Bruton
