Summary:
Installation in ncrypted root partion failed =>
Installation in encrypted root partion failed >The first reboot failed. No password request no reaction.
is the first dependent of the second ?
more info in failsafe mode ?
we have some bugs about encryption but I'm don't remember the cause.
With first reboot I mean the reboot after the installation. The system hangs after grub menue, but don't reboot on itself. Can you provide more information about what you mean with failsafe mode. I try meanwhile to install Mageia2 in a vmware machine. It is the same behaviour. Encryption is not working. I would be really happy if I can help the Mageia community to solve this problem, and may more problems. So please advise how to proceed further. I am experience in c and python and I ask to take part of the community. best FM

nelg Hi Frank I hope you have been able to join and help. Else have a look here https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Contributing and post your offer or questions in the forum or where you find suitable. Thank you :) Have you tried if this problem still applies in mga3 cauldron? If it does maybe assign Pascal or Thierry As Manuel wrote there are some bugs in diskdrake regarding encrypted disk, and they are being worked upon now. See bug 5666, #5811, #9741 That said, encrypted disk is working for me this way on mga2: 1) in installer clear existing patitionning, 2) create /boot ext4 120 MB, 3) rest of drive LVM, check mark encrypted, enter key, add to new lvm group vg-mga 4) in that lvm create and name your /, /home, swap, whatever I have also tested that it works to on a running system expand the / and home, so you can create small partitions and expand later. Good anyhow to make backups first... But there are issues i have not traced yet, such as it fouled up when i deleted and recreated swap... CC:

fri This bug being about Mageia 2 installer, which will not change in the future, the only way to move forward is to make sure the bug doesn't reach Mageia 4, if it's still valid in cauldron today. To do that, please try with Mageia 4 alpha 1 that has already been released (or any more recent version of the installer, depending on the moment when you read this) Keywords:
