Description Adam Swiercz 2012-10-01 17:20:01 CEST
Description of problem:
I had MDV 2010.2.
I formatted first partition (with /).
I'm not formatted second partition (with /home - user data).
After fresh installation Mageia 3.1? form ISO DVD release, but I'm not upgrade it to newest as possible packets (when I was doing update packets they crashed my video - cannot startx), one problem was discovered.

My printer does not scan correctly. Xsane starting printer (connected by USB) to do scan but unfortunately it stops after few seconds of transmitting scanned document. And completly hangs(printer/scanner).

I worry about this issue and so I cannot switch another PC's to Mageia from other Mandrivas. Also I have a few HP C7280 connected by Ethernet cable.

Another things BTW is that Mandriva and Mageia also have problem with cooker/cauldron dependencies. Only one new packet in upgrade procedure removes another ones maybe more than 50percent of system packets(RPM's).
That on Mandriva and I see Mageia also is weird.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
USB connected printer (HPLIP)

Steps to Reproduce:
1.On Mageia run GIMP -> create from XSane
2.Insert document to scan onto scanner plate
3.Start scanning from xsane panel

No action since over 2,5 yrs ago and still assigned to Bug Squad

Closing as OLD

Please reopen if this report is still valid for _current_ cauldron and/or fully updated Mageia 4
