Description Ezequiel Partida 2012-09-14 07:48:42 CEST
Description of problem:

I have an Acer IconiaTab A500 tablet and I want to sync using Mageia and get rid of windows for good.

The IconiaTab has a usb cable (miniusb <-> usb) to connect to the computer.. On windows 7 I get both the internal storage memory (16gb) and external memory microsd (32gb) mounted as normal usb keys where I can just drag and drop data or sync using winamp or songbird.

But on Mageia 2 nothing is mounted..

I used the command lsusb in konsole and I get the next info.

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0502:3341 Acer, Inc. Iconia tablet A500

My IconiaTab A500 is using Android 4.01 ICS.
I am using Mageia 2 with KDE4
3.3.8-desktop-2.mga2

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

I just connected the iconiatab and mageia 2 doesn't do anything.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect USB cable from IconiaTab to PC
2. Go to sleep since nothing will happen. :-)

Do you have the hal package installed?

Yes I do have hal 0.5.14.6mga1 installed.
Comment 3 Thierry Vignaud 2012-09-16 17:47:48 CEST
Does it work better if you remove it?
Comment 4 Ezequiel Partida 2012-09-20 23:31:15 CEST
I removed hal and rebooted but I still have the same problem.

lsusb does detect it with both hal installed or not but still not mounting it and unable to sync from any audio player or KDE4.

:-(

I found this link with some info.. I tried follow the steps until I could not find any /etc/fuse.conf so I don't know the equivalent.

How can I translate it to make it work with mageia?. Please help. :-)

This message is a reminder that Mageia 2 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately one month from now Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 2. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '2'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 2's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Mageia 2 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

Mageia 2 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''22 November''. Mageia 2 is no
longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or
bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
