Description of problem:
After installation from DVD (x86_64) the PC hangs at the boot-process.
Only with the boot-option acpi=off noapic nolapic or acpi=off irqpoll it will continue. And in safe-mode.

PC:
MB Asus M2N-E sli
AMD X2 5200
8 Gig ram
1 nVidia 8800 GTS

No difference with kernel 3.3.6 or 3.3.8 and the nvidia-current re-build from Cauldron updated to version 304.43.
Even with a rebuild of Cauldron kernel 3.5.3 

On the same PC with Mandriva 2011, kernel 3.5.3 (MIB) X-org 1.11.3 (MIB) nVidia 304.43 (Updated re-build cooker). No problem booting normal.
