3alpha1 no errors in the console ? (In reply to comment #1) > no errors in the console ? not that I noticed, but I must say I didn't look because I took it to be a Gnome feature. Same DVD, (with updates), same version of diskdrake gives the usual nice colours for the partitions in KDE. I'll go log into Gnome again and look at konsole messages nothing that explains the missing colours: [root@localhost marja]# diskdrake Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-google-droid-sans.conf", line 61: Having multiple values in <test> isn't supported and may not works as expected Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-google-droid-sans.conf", line 96: Having multiple values in <test> isn't supported and may not works as expected [root@localhost marja]# cc'ing Olav, because it really seems to be Gnome-specific CC:

olav What theme is used? It seems the Adwaita theme (=GNOME theme)? Default for Mageia is Oxygen. I know that there have been loads of changes in gtk+ to support more theme related things. I'm guessing the theme is overriding the background colour set by diskdrake. the theme that was installed by default in a Gnome-only install Is there a way to see the theme that is set without booting into that partition? No worries, I'll test it myself (somewhere this weekend). I only like Adwaita and didn't want to switch themes. :) For the fontconfig warning, please file a bug against google-droid-sans-fonts package. Messages on the command line give a bad impression. It looks like empire eerrr bug #3313 strike back CC:

hugo @Thierry, as mentioned in comments 4 and 5, and as well as visible in the screenshot, theme is adwaita, not oxygen-gtk. So, though I agree it is likely the same bug as #3313, it should not be assigned to oxygen-gtk, I'd say. Rather an upstream (adwaita) bug. Cheers, Hugo Well that's definitively not a drakxtools bug :-) agreed :) (In reply to comment #6) > No worries, I'll test it myself (somewhere this weekend). I only like Adwaita > and didn't want to switch themes. :) > Thx :) (although I'm still curious in which config file the chosen theme is set... I could mount that partition and have a look) > For the fontconfig warning, please file a bug against google-droid-sans-fonts > package. Messages on the command line give a bad impression. Oops, I had never thought about that (the bad impression), but you're right. Luckily Shlomi already filed bug 6919 for it :) Still present in all Mageia 3 alpha 2 gnome live iso images. CC:

Assigning to gnomes-theme-standard for now, because it is stated above this has nothing to do with oxygen-gtk. If this is indeed adwaita and if oxygen-gtk should indeed be default in GNOME, then something went wrong with the defaulting Assignee:

bugsquad This morning I read on the qa-discuss ml that tmb doesn't see this bug any more in a newly built Live https://ml.mageia.org/l/arc/qa-discuss/2012-10/msg00074.html I just updated my system, but the bug is still there. According to drakbug, the theme I'm using is Adwaita (I never chose another one than what it defaulted to when I installed Mageia + Gnome-only) I don't easily find how to change the theme in Gnome. If anything changes after a reboot, I'll report CC:

release_blocker I think I've finally figured a workaround ... cp -f /usr/share/themes/oxygen-gtk/gtk-2.0/gtkrc /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/gtk-2.0/gtkrc I don't know what else is impacted by this change, but it fixes the colours in diskdrake. The question is which bits is causing the issue...

eeeemail bug 8429 is possibly a duplicate @Claire bug 8429 is likely not a duplicate I'm afraid. The issue here concerns Adwaita gtk3 theme only and not oxygen-gtk3 (for which the problem does not occur). For bug 8429, oxygen-gtk3 theme is used; partition's buttons are painted properly (as is here if using the same theme). Likely (to me at least), the issue reported there is a graphics driver problem. 3beta3 looking for somebody to give a try maybe in testing package CC:

ennael1 What would you like tested? i am working on it, i should provide a fix soonish please test next gsettings-desktop-schemas rpm rpm to test: gsettings-desktop-schemas-3.6.1-5.mga3 Package signatures are missing. Testing from a live dvd under virtualbox. After installing all available updates including the schemas, diskdrake was still all gray. After restarting the x server, diskdrake is back in colour. Yeah! yes you need to restart the session to see the changes. :). For the signature this is a pb of yesterday as all my kde update is missing them too. lowering priority then, if we have a workaround. Thanks Priority:

High btw can someone report this bug in gnome bugzilla ? to see this Adwaita bug fixed. How? Diskdrake is not GNOME software. because this is not a diskdrake bug but seems a theme one and Adwaita is a gnome stuff. Yes I know. But if I report it in GNOME bugzilla and say that diskdrake misbehaves, what do you think their answer will be? maybe your sentense isn't the good one. This is not diskdrake that misbehaves but why not "Adwaita misbehaves with diskdrake, and changing to an other theme works as expected" However, please give some thought whether you will release GNOME with Oxigen-gtk theme by default. Despite the involvement of Hugo Pereira Da Costa, Oxigen-gtk is still not working well under GNOME impacting on the user experience (the issues / bugs are known and already reported). Perhaps it's better to live with this inconvenience in diskdrake for now and add a note in the Errata instead. CC:

gruescubogdan I know what you mean Nicolas, but all I'm saying is that this is evident outside a price of GNOME software, so how can you offically blame the GNOME software and make it stick? Only if you report a piece of GNOME software misbehaving.So find me any GNOME software with the same colour problem as diskdrake and I will post it in GNOME Bugzilla. Until that time you have no way that you can do it and expect any solution. Sorry.

9609 You all mean that diskdrake shows partitions in grey in the MCC or only during the installation process ? If it's only during the installation process, it will be possible for Mageia 5 to re-establish Adwaita theme by default just after installation (after first boot). CC:
(none) =>
guillaume.ber17 @Guillaume as far as I know, adwaita is the theme with which the partitions are grey. They are fine with oxygen-gtk, in mageia4 and in fact, not even sure it is true for Adwaita any more either Think this bug should be closed. oxygen-gtk during install: http://wstaw.org/m/2014/02/06/plasma-desktopY18311.png oxygen-gtk in diskdrake: http://wstaw.org/m/2014/02/06/plasma-desktopg18311.png Adwaita in diskdrake: http://wstaw.org/m/2014/02/06/plasma-desktops18311.png All with mga4 so, closing ... RESOLVED Ok, problem is solved for mga4. There's now no excuse not to use Gnome default theme in Mga5. |
Created attachment 2761 [details] screenshot of the diskdrake screen When starting diskdrake in MCC or from the command line, instead of showing different colours for different partition types, all partitions are grey. @ Thierry I didn't check what it is like in KDE
