What do you mean with sudo ? the popup that come asking for a password ? any errors if you start it from the console ? (maybe it's a bug of networkmanager changing the host) Source RPM:

I have tried to run "mcc" as root but it says it can not find any displays. > (maybe it's a bug of networkmanager changing the host) That could very well be it, happy to "try things" to narrow this down.
