amarok use phonon for backend. So it depends of the phonon backend you're using. The default phonon backend in mageia is phonon-gstreamer Here we have the suggest : urpmq --suggests phonon-gstreamer gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-soup gstreamer0.10-pulse gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly where plugins-ugly is the needed plugin for gstreamer. Regarding phonon-vlc it's working out of the box using it. And we can't use phonon-vlc by defaut due to space & coherence issue. Regards, Status:

REOPENED Did you try to reinstall the phonon-gstreamer package *like* i suggested before reopening this bug ? Or did you try to use the phonon-vlc plugin ? You don't have any --no-suggests option used on your urpmi setup? Status:
