kristoffer.grundstrom1983 Still valid with the recent updates, and what is you keymap (don't know if this really exist) ? keymap? Come again? You mean Keyboard language-setting? Not sure I should comment here, Kristoffer, you maybe use Gnome 3 ? I have a nl keyboard, KDE and IceWM have no problem recognizing it (checking in MCC while in Gnome still gives nl keyboard is chosen) Gnome classic seems to think I have another one :( In MCC, the keyboard is set correctly In a text editor, terminal or where ever in Gnome, I get ` instead of @ and _ instead of ?, & instead of _ etc. When I switch to some tty, the characters I see on the screen are the ones I pressed on my keyoard. marja11 Valid in Mageia 3 alpha 1 Installed default gnome installation with UK settings. MCC shows UK keyboard selected. Gnome appears to be using US keyboard layout so @ = " etc. Whiteboard:

3alpha1 Gnome system settings lists only English (US) under Region & Language - Input Sources. (In reply to comment #5) > Gnome system settings lists only English (US) under Region & Language - Input > Sources. However, there, but also in System Settings --> Hardware --> Keyboard it is possible to click on "+", choose the correct keyboard or "input source" from the list and then remove the US one by selecting it and clicking "-" This survives a reboot (still in my not so real I think the priority of this bug should be higher then "normal", though. @ Olav @ tv I don't understand the (lack of) relation between libgnomekbd-common, x11-driver-input-keyboard and drakx-kbd-mouse-x11 Why are the drakx-kbd-mouse-x11 settings ignored? thierry.vignaud s/(still in my not so real/(still in Gnome Classic)/ Installed pre-3Alphapre1 (86_64) with Gnome and GDM. With GDM the problem is worse. Of course, the first time you log in you need to know that you're keyboard is detected wrong and where the characters of your password are. However, changing the keyboard in the Gnome system settings does not lead to GDM knowing about your none-American keyboard, too: after reboot, you still need to pretend you have an US keyboard when entering your password. :( After having logged in Gnome responds OK to the keyboard.
