Description claire robinson 2012-07-13 10:10:45 CEST
As per the title.

When there are desktop icons on the bottom half of the screen in folderview KDE desktop, on login there is a scrollbar down the right hand side. Moving the icons to the top half of the screen causes the scroll bar to go.
Comment 1 John Balcaen 2012-08-15 03:23:12 CEST
Can you still reproduce with KDE 4.8.5 from testing?
Also even if i would say that it's a « normal » behaviour for a « folderview », could you add a screenshot & report it upstream please ?

I've seen this quiet recently, but it's not reliably reproduced. Seem to remember there being an upstream report for this already.

Changing the version to mga3 since it's very unlikely that we fix that kind of upstream bug in Mageia 2 now.

I've seen this happen on Mageia 1 or 2 (can't remember for sure). It happened infrequently I think, either that or I found a workaround. Maybe that's why I moved the trash icon out of the bottom right corner. Anyway I haven't seen it happen in a while. I think this is the upstream bug for it:

It seems to be fixed in KDE 4.14.2 : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294795#c372

By patch from Mark Harmstone: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294795#c356

Can be added that patch to core_testing (actual MGA4 KDE 4.12.5)?

Thanks!

Mageia 4 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-09-19. It is is no longer
maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug
fix updates.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to
fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later
Mageia version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we weren't
able to fix it before Mageia 4's end of life. If you are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and
change it against that version of Mageia. If it's valid in several versions,
select the highest and add MGAxTOO in whiteboard for each other valid release.
Example: it's valid in cauldron and Mageia 5, set to cauldron and add MGA5TOO.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime,
sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia
release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

If you would like to help fixing bugs in the future, don't hesitate to join the
packager team via our mentoring program [1] or join the teams that fit you
most [2].
