Description DariuszSki 2012-07-11 11:28:38 CEST
Description of problem:
Since upgrading to Mageia2 from Mageia1 (one pc with clean install), the Network Statistics for eth0 no longer gathers statistics. They seem to have stopped collecting the day the upgrade from Mageia1 to Mageia2 occurred.

This means the summary data, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and Top 10 traffic days are all wrong.

In both machines, traffic accounting IS enabled for the eth0 connection.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Unknown what RPM, but affects x86 and x86_64 versions.

How reproducible:
Upgrade from Mageia 1 to 2 and look at Network Monitor then "Show Detailed Network Statistics" after a few days (accessed via right click network icon on Kicker bar in KDE).

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Upgrade from Mageia1 to 2.

Comment 2 DariuszSki 2012-07-12 10:07:32 CEST
I checked both machines, both had vnstat installed, but the demon was not running. On Starting it all logging returned to normal.

I will file a separate suggestion to check that the stats are switched on after an upgrade (automatically switched off during upgrade), no matter what method of upgrade is used (I used USB Key and network).
