Description Max 2011-04-06 21:00:36 CEST
Description of problem:
When trying to upgrade Mageia Alpha 2 to Beta 1 using the command:
#urpmi --auto-update -a
the system asks me to "insert the medium named "Core media".
I cannot continue the upgrade from that point.
I don't think it should need the Beta 1 disc...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Alpha 2

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a terminal or tty with root privileges.
2. Type: urpmi --auto-update -a
3. Allow the system to download and install files.
4. Watch the magic happen!

What package needs the media "Core media" to update?

Can you put the entire command ? (for example on pastebin, it's better than a screenshot)

Why not? a package from the repos may require a package from the ones on the DVD; since the DVD repos are above the online repos, urpmi prefers packages from there than from the online repos to save some bandwidth.

If you insert the DVD, does it continue?

The DVD I have is Alpha 2, and with it in the drive nothing happens (obviously).
I was under the impression that Cauldron at least is a rolling release and that the upgrade to Beta can be done from the command line, without having to download a new ISO.
I guess I was mistaken.

Well, you can go to the Mageia command center (MCC) and click on the
"configure sources" icon.
Then, a wizard will ask you to enable web repositories.
If it is already done, you will not see this wizard.
Then, uncheck or delete the DVD media in the list and then retry urpmi --auto-update.
It should work.

It is not a bug, but just a repository configuration problem, that's why, I close this bug with INVALID. Fell free to repoen it if needed.
