PATCH, UPSTREAM Per our update policy, we (normally) can't update to a new version of a package in a stable release. We need to create a patch that fixes the issue reported here, unless the new version of the software is just bug fixing. The 0.8.0 release of MLT is a feature release, so I don't think we can't update Mga 2 version to this one. I'll have to find the commit that fixes this issue and create a patch to apply to mga2 package and this can take some time. Status:

SRPM: mlt-0.7.8-2.1.mga2.src.rpm I was NOT able to reproduce the bug, therefore I can not confirm the fix. However, the version from Updates Testing worked as well, so there are no regressions. @ jcl darkc: As you are affected by the bug, could you please follow the procedure described here: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/QA_process_for_validating_updates ? You would help us very much to get this update validated, which means it would be available to all users of Mageia. CC:

wassi Dear QA, Here is my setup : Mageia release 2 (Official) for x86_64 I added core update testing to my repositories, and I installed the following packages : lib64mlt++3-0.7.8-2.1.mga2 mlt-0.7.8-2.1.mga2 lib64mlt4-0.7.8-2.1.mga2 With these fixed package, kdenlive works as it should with no more crashes.
