Description Garth Hoyman 2012-06-27 17:08:17 CEST
Description of problem:
I'm using a live cd [on usb]

I've noticed some small things

you must use the mouse to accept the user agreement, the rest can be done with keyboard only

on MCC
software management>configure media sources is blank until you goto update system, not actually update, but go there
it looks like connecting to the mirror is whats needed for configure media

just some observations of small things that could be better with the live cd

ok for the first part (even if you can play with the tab), I don't understand the second one, it works fine here

Version: 2 => Cauldron
Summary: installer forces the use of mouse => "accept the user agreement" should set focus to the Ok.

Manual, thanks for your reply & hardwork

for the 2nd [software management>configure media sources]
I was trying to enable the tainted & non-free
none of the 4 items are visible
there should be a pop-up asking me to connect to the mirror

my accidental work around was to go to update, which has the pop up I mentioned above
Comment 3 Manuel Hiebel 2012-06-28 00:18:02 CEST
that is a wrong way to do that :)
see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Software_management#You_prefer_to_configure_the_official_media_sources
Comment 4 Garth Hoyman 2012-06-28 04:04:44 CEST
that is my point
the connection to the mirror that lets you configure official media sources isn't automatic on that tab

I'm running live on my notebook until I can figure out how to get wireless working :O

Please don't mix draklive-install & drakconf issues in the same bug

Thierry, draklive-install doesn't use the same code as the installer ?
(for the component change)
Comment 7 Thierry Vignaud 2012-09-04 10:10:55 CEST
Humm.
Indeed.
The fact is we want the user to read the license then concenciously choose "Accept".
This is what is done everywhere so users should expect this.

I don't care where the focus is
my point is that I would like to be able to tab the focus & be able to accept, without using a mouse

this is the only place a mouse is required during installation

But you can:
- use tab until you are over 'Refuse'
- then use up arrow to move to 'Accept'
- then tab until next button.

personnaly, i don't use mouse before partitionning step. Just consider such choice list as one element in with you navigate with arrows.

You can do the full install without the mouse.
I do.
On that step, I do up reverse tab twice

Thanks Claire & Terry,
that's great, just what I wanted to know

one of those nuggets [of information] that needs a home on the wiki :D

thanks again for all your hard work [magic] which makes Mageia the premier community based distro
