Description of problem:

Trying to open a html document file with Midori by right mouse clicking the file in Dolphin,selecting the Open With option and then selecting Midori as the application to use results in a error condition instead of opening the file.

It appears Midori is pre-pending the file path for opening the file with the user's Documents directory.  For example using the xguest user id and then trying to open the file /usr/share/doc/mageia-release-common/release-notes.html with Midori from Dolphin causes the following to be in the url field in Midori:


 file:///home/xguest/Documents//usr/share/doc/mageia-release-common/release-notes.html

with the following error message:

The page 'file:///home/xguest/Documents//usr/share/doc/mageia-release-common/release-notes.html' couldn't be loaded.

Error opening file: No such file or directory


Firefox and Chromium open the file from Dolphin without problems, so it appears to be just a problem with Midori.

How reproducible: every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Midori
2. Use Dolphin to navigate to /usr/share/doc/mageia-release-common directory
3. Right mouse click file release-notes.html
4. Select Open With from the context menu
5. Select Midori as the application to use to open the file
6. Error will be generated

Added patch from upstream git [1] which should fix this issue. Please test the new release [2] from core/updates_testing. Please note that the new release is also build against gtk2, see bug 6295.

Testing x86_64

Before
------
It actually adds /home/user/Dropbox/Documents// here

After
-----
installing midori-0.4.4-1.2.mga2.x86_64.rpm from /var/cache/urpmi/rpms
It downloads the file now, rather than opening in the browser. Clicking open opens in a text editor. That is likely just a setting though.

Testing complete x86_64

Tested the new release, the patch works for me,  now able to open html files from Dolphin with Midori.

Since you are on i586, we can consider this updates as validated, one day \o/.



Suggested Advisory:

Updated midori add a patch to resolve errors when opening a local html file.
Additionally, it was also build against gtk2 instead gtk3 which was the case previously.
