It would make sense to provide this script with the distro. That way newbies will not have to install anything before they can provide info to receive help.
In my mind pulling the script to /usr/bin 
(cd /usr/bin && wget -Nc smxi.org/inxi && chmod +x inxi) and distribute it, would be the best. I am sure there are smarter ways to do this but I am after the result: 
Install Mageia and start using inxi, without having to install it.

And according to Sophie, it is only in Mdv *backports* for 2010.x

That was my interpretation of what it says here https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mgarepo#The_package_doesn.27t_exist_yet_in_Mageia_1  too, but someone told me Mdv backport doesn't count. However, you have more authority and it should have been more clear in that paragraph if Mdv backport packages are excluded, so I'll change the settings of this report.

This is ready to be validated but may need to be a backport instead of an updated. It is only present in mdv2010 as a backport, not in release or update medias. Currently awaiting a decision from council.

It's not a package issue.

FYI: Repos:     Error: inxi does not support this feature for your distro yet.
So, it works! It's just not recognize Mageia.

Yes Thanks! If you had not told me I would never have discovered that. :)
The idea I think, is that a Mageia dev contributes to the script so that Mageia repos can be shown.

Just a reminder everyone, as a noarch package this update could
have been validated once it had been validated on either
architecture for both releases.

Regarding Comment 19, the inxi bash script would need to have code
added for urpmi.  It currently has apt/yum, not specific for any
given distro.
